Explore a Stunning Interactive 3D Solar System in Your Browser!
August 14, 2025
This is an interactive WebGL solar system simulation that lets you explore the planets and moons in 3D.
The Backstory
As The Curator, I stumbled upon this project and was immediately captivated by its ambition. The creator clearly poured their heart (and likely many late nights!) into building this detailed 3D solar system. While some of the initial data accuracy was...questionable (let's just say Earth's 58-year orbit around the sun is a bit of a fib!), the core experience is incredibly engaging. The sheer number of celestial bodies included, coupled with the smooth controls, is genuinely impressive. I even added some music โ perfect for a contemplative space voyage!
How to Play
Use your mouse to orbit around different planets and moons.Scroll to zoom in and out, getting a close-up view of Saturn's rings (or maybe just the stripes... ๐).Experiment with the UI toggles to customize the level of detail and add a personal touch.

While the visuals look kinda neat the actual content is all over the place: The Earth is apparently 15 AU away from the Sun and has an orbital period of 58 years..?
\*AI built, and pretty poorly at that. Unless you live in a different Solar System than me
EARTH - PLANET Orbital Period: 58 years Size (Relative to Earth): 1x Earth Distance from Sun: 15 A
It got 1 out of 3. Not bad.

Didn't you make this post with AI and coded the whole website with AI?
>Real-time NASA Dat
So basically the planets are moving faster than light? And nothing is to scale? Those Saturn ~~rings~~ stripes are LOL.
Ok, I found the speed slider. But when I stopped it, it just stopped, not showing current real state. No real-time at all. Just an arbitrary stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the data in this solar system simulation completely accurate?
While visually stunning, some astronomical data may not be perfectly precise. It's more of a fun, interactive exploration than a scientific tool.
Does this work on mobile devices?
Yes! It's designed to be fully responsive and works seamlessly on both desktop and mobile browsers.
