Level Up Your Nostalgia: Interactive Retro Game Tracker

August 14, 2025

This interactive game checklist website lets you track your video game progress.

The Backstory

Honestly, building this was a blast from the past! I'm a massive video game enthusiast, and I wanted a fun way to keep track of every game I've ever played. It started as a simple list, but then the design bug bit me. I envisioned a clean, interactive experience that captured the feeling of conquering video game worlds. Seeing the positive reactions, especially to the visual appeal, has been totally rewarding. The comments about licensing are spot on; that's something I need to look into!

I’ve think your title is just poorly worded. People likely don’t care what games *you’ve* played, but people might be interested to see all the games *they* have. (And it seems that’s how this actually works, anyway.

That being said, this could be improved upon with games from years prior to 2006. It feels incomplete to me. Why did you cut it off there? Also, while the little games at the bottom (Tetris etc.) are quite random, I think they would add more value if they were playable on mobile.

But I’m curious, and wonder if someone smarter than me can answer this question: aren’t these games licensed? Like, if someone recreated their own ā€œMinesweeperā€ for this site—or even found someone else’s—wouldn’t it need its own name, and/or some sort of credit to its owner (if applicable)? …I play a puzzle game that includes ā€œMinesā€, for example, and I imagine this is why.

So?

Why would anyone care though?
